DAY 1: ARRIVE GUWAHATI – BHALUKPONG (260 KMS/ 5-6 Hrs)

Meet our driver upon arrival and then transfer to Bhalukpong.

 

Bhalukpong is situated on the Assam-Arunachal border, Bhalukpong is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The half of the town in Assam and half is in Arunachal Pradesh. Bhalukpong is one of the most must see picturesque spot for angling, leisurely picnics and nature lovers. Overnight accommodation will be in Bhalukpong.

 

DAY 2: BHALUKPONG - BOMDILLA (110 KMS / 4-5 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to a picturesque location called Bomdila. On the way you will be visiting to Tipi Orchid Sanctuary and Research Centre. It’s an Orchidarium at Tipi (5 kms from Bhalukpong) on the way to Bomdila is the Botanical paradise. About 300 species of orchids can be seen in the flora – glass house. Some of them are rare and endangered species. Overnight accommodation will be in Bomdila.

 

DAY 3: BOMDILLA – TAWANG (180 KMS / 6-7 Hrs)

After early breakfast, road to Tawang through serpentine roads of the mountains. This ride you will rise up to 13700 Ft. and this is called as Sella Top and beginning of the Tawang District. 40 Km ahead you can visit Jaswant Garh, a memorial build for a gallant soldier of 1962 Indo-China War. Overnight accommodation will be in Tawang.

 

DAY 4: TAWANG

After Breakfast, Full day exploration of Tawang which includes the major ones are:

 

Tawang Monastery (Gaden Namgyal Lhatse): Tawang Monastery about 400 years old, situated at an altitude of approximately 10,000 ft. is the second largest Buddhist monastery in India. It also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. The monastery is the house of more than 700 monks.

 

Urqelling Monastery: It is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama who is the only Indian to have risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far. Inside the monastery there are several Stupas and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist New Year to get the blessing for the coming year. 

 

The Craft Center: The craft center in Tawang sells beautiful masks, hand woven carpets, jewellery in silver, coral and amber, ‘chubas’ the local dress and delightful affordable mementos.

 

Tawang War Memorial: After lunch around 3: 30 pm we will leave for Tawang War Memorial. The memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The memorial is 40-foot-high and like a stupa in design. It is locally called ‘Namgyal Chortan’. The names of 2420 martyrs imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.

 

Special attraction: At 4:30 pm we will have Light & Sound Show which will describe 1962 Sino-India war and the Hero’s of the war, about their struggle and martyrdom. Back to hotel. Overnight in Tawang.

 

DAY 5: TAWANG – DIRANG (150 KMS / 5-6 Hrs)

After Breakfast transfer from Tawang to Dirang. En-route visit Nurarang / Jung Falls. Overnight accommodation will be in Dirang. The Jung Falls is located about 35 kilometers from the centre of Tawang city and about 3 kilometers from the town of Jung. Jung is the valley that lies between Sella and Tawang. The Jung Falls, which is fed by alpine lakes and snow streams tumbles in multiple steep steps into the river below from an appreciable height. And everything around the waterfall is dense green adding to the beauty of the waterfall. 

 

Dirang: Dirang 40 kms from Bomdila is situated at an altitude of 1497 meters. It is an ideal hill resort in West Kameng district with beautiful Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, Yak Research Centre, Buddhist Gompa, Hot Water Spring and ancient Dirang Jong (Fort). It is the base camp for trekking to Gorichen peak and other bird watching trails.

 

DAY 6: DIRANG – NAMERI NATIONAL PARK (180 KMS / 5-6 Hrs)

After Breakfast, transfer from Dirang to Nameri National Park.

 

Nameri National Park: The Nameri National Park of 200 sq kms area is located in the Sonitpur district, bordering Arunachal Pradesh and it is also the core area of Nameri Tiger Reserve (344sq kms). It is the home of  Mammals like Elephant, Tiger, leopard, Sambar, Barking deer, Hog Deer, Wild Boar, Gaur, Slow Loris, Gaplangur, Burmese ferret badger, and over 350 species of birds including White-winged Wood Duck, Ibis bill (uncommon), Ruddy Kingfisher, Palla’s fishing eagle, Lesser Adjutant stork , Greater spotted eagle, Rufous necked hornbill, Great pied Indian hornbill, Wreathed hornbill, Long-billed Ringed Plover, Sultan Tit, and Yellow-bellied and White-throated Fantails. Another important wild life sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh the Pakhui (Pakke) wild life Sanctuary adjoins the Park on its North-Eastern point. The river Jia- Bhoroli and its tributaries namely the Diji, Dinai, Doigurung, Nameri, Dikorai, and Kharietc crisscross the park. During rainy season A few Jheels (during the rainy seasons) also dot the area. Overnight accommodation will be at Nameri.

 

DAY 7: NAMERI– GUWAHATI (250km / 4-5 Hrs)

Before breakfast, you can go for walking trail in Nameri by crossing Jai Bharoli River by local boat, walk around 1 kms on the sandbar and reach forest range with a forest guard. Forest trekking will start till the watch tower. Relax on the watch tower for any hour and enjoy the birds, butterflies and animals of the forest. Return back to the resort and have your breakfast. Later you will road to Guwahati. After arriving in Guwahati, sightseeing you can go for are Maa Kamakhya Temple (Hindu Shakti Temple – one of the pilgrimage of the Hindu), Umananda Temple (Smallest inhabited river island of India) you have to get on a ferry to go to the island. Later you can visit State Museum, State Zoo and Botanical Garden and Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra (A museum of Assam diverse culture). Overnight accommodation will be in Guwahati.

 

DAY 8: GUWAHATI DEPARTURE

After Breakfast, transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your departure.
